The finance discipline of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics is a key discipline in Shanxi Province and a characteristic specialty construction point of national first-class universities. It is one of the earliest financial disciplines established in China and the earliest financial talent training base established in New China. The discipline of finance was founded in 195 1, awarded master's degree in 1995, approved as a provincial key construction discipline in 1999, awarded a doctorate in 2005 and approved as a provincial key discipline in 2007. Related undergraduate majors include finance, insurance and financial engineering. Among them, the finance major was awarded as the undergraduate brand major in Shanxi ordinary colleges and universities in 2005, and in 2007, it was awarded as the construction point of characteristic major in national first-class colleges and universities. After long-term careful training and practical training in teaching and scientific research, a group of experts and scholars who enjoy extensive influence in China have emerged in the discipline of finance, bringing up a group of academic leaders with high academic level and great development potential, and forming an academic echelon with reasonable structure and prime of life. At present, there are 50 teachers in finance, including 8 professors and 24 associate professors, and 64% of them have the title of associate senior or above. Based in Shanxi and facing the whole country, the discipline of finance made a pioneering research on Shanxi banks and businessmen in Ming and Qing Dynasties, filled the blank of China's economic and financial history, built a theoretical research framework with financial resources as the research object, formed a complete theoretical system of financial innovation and risk management of commercial banks, and made important contributions to the theoretical development of the discipline of finance, economic reform and local construction in China.
