1946, the journalism department of Jinan University was established in Shanghai. 1949, which was merged into the journalism department of Fudan University due to the closure of Jinan University. 1958, Jinan University is rebuilt in Guangzhou, and the Chinese Department offers journalism 1960. 1970, Jida was forced to close down due to the Cultural Revolution, and the journalism major and Chinese Department merged into South China Normal University. 1978, Jinan university rebuilt the journalism department after the resumption of school. Since then, the journalism and communication education of Jinan University has embarked on the road of continuous development. Feng Lieshan, the first director of the journalism department of Jinan University, and Zhan, the second director, followed by Zhou Leng, Ma Rong, Ma Yanxian, Wu, Ma and Cai. After 200 1 was upgraded to School of Journalism and Communication, Professor Cai was the first dean, Fan Yijin, the former chairman of Southern Newspaper Media Group, and Professor Dong was the executive vice president.

In 2005, he successfully applied for a doctorate in journalism, and in the same year, the course of Journalism Management was approved as an excellent course in Guangdong Province. In 2006, journalism was identified as a key discipline in Guangdong Province. In 2007, he won the Post-Doctoral Research Center for Journalism and Communication. In the same year, we cooperated with the Chinese Department to build a key humanities and social science base in Guangdong Province: Overseas Chinese Literature and Chinese Media Research Center. At present, the journalism department of Jinan University has established a cost-master-doctoral talent training system, and has formed majors such as news communication history, news communication business, media management and overseas Chinese media, which has always been in a leading position in Guangdong and South China.

At present, the college has 1 doctoral program, 2 master programs and 4 undergraduate majors. There are 55 full-time graduate students/kloc-0 and more than 0 undergraduate students1/kloc-0. International students account for 75% of undergraduates. The college has a good cooperative relationship with relevant universities and departments in Malaysia, Macao and other countries and regions.
