Foreign Cooperation of Korea College of Shandong University
On the basis of strengthening the teaching of politics, economy, culture and Sino-Korean relations, Korea College will carry out all-round and comprehensive Korean studies, and strive to build Korea College into a first-class base for Korean education, Korean studies and cultural and educational exchanges with Korea.

While teaching, Korean universities actively carry out various scientific research activities related to Korea. He has undertaken national social science fund project 1, Ministry of Education project 1, 3 international cooperation projects, 2 youth social science fund projects of Shandong University, 5 other scientific research projects, published more than academic papers 100, published many monographs and translations, and 3 textbooks (sets) of China and North Korea.

Korea College has Korean Department, Chinese as a Foreign Language Department, China-Korea Exchange Center and Korea Institute. The Korean Language Department now has a Korean language major, with 9 full-time teachers, including 5 associate professors, 8 foreign teachers, more than 260 undergraduates, and nearly 90 students in Weihai's preparatory classes and civil service classes. Korean language and literature can be awarded a master's degree. The Department of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, formerly known as School of International Education and Exchange, Weihai Branch of Shandong University, now has a major in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. * * * Full-time teachers 17, including 5 professors and associate professors, and more than 230 long-term international students. Chinese language and literature can be awarded a master's degree. With the approval of Hanban, our department can open HSK examination room from June 5, 2004 to February 5, 2004. The China-Korea Exchange Center was jointly established by Shandong University and Daewon University in Korea, and is responsible for various international cooperation and exchange projects between the two universities. Korea Research Institute is a specialized scientific research institution under Korea College, which consists of Korea Political Research Institute, Korea Economic Research Institute and Korea Cultural Research Institute.

Korea College of Shandong University is a "characteristic college" established in the process of deepening reform and bold innovation in order to build a well-known high-level university at home and abroad. Korea College will give full play to Shandong University's resource advantages in Korean language education, Korean studies and Chinese teaching in Korea, break through the traditional school-running mode and operating mechanism, actively promote cooperation with Academia Sinica such as China Academy of Social Sciences, and carry out multi-level and all-round in-depth research on Korea. By making development plans in this research field, holding national or international academic conferences, receiving visiting scholars at home and abroad, and establishing a network of books, materials and information, Korea University will be built into a first-class and internationally renowned base for Korean language education and research and academic exchanges on North Korea.
