Jiangzhou was built in the early Eastern Jin Dynasty, and its jurisdiction was mostly in Jiangxi. After the Southern Dynasties, it was divided many times, which made Jiangzhou's jurisdiction smaller. Jiangzhou was one of the administrative divisions in the Tang and Song Dynasties, which lasted until the Song and Yuan Dynasties.
Xiao Yi, King Xiang of Southern Liang in Eastern Jin Dynasty, later Emperor Yuan of Liang Dynasty, was once the secretariat of Jiangzhou.
Jiangzhou is today's Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. Jiangzhou famous sentence "Jiujiang officer today. My blue sleeves are wet in Pipa Trip written by Bai Juyi in Tang Dynasty, and Jiangzhou in Water Margin also refers to this place. Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province also has a complete "Xunyang Building", where Song Jiang wrote anti-poetry, with the full text of Song Jiang's anti-poetry.
At the end of the Yuan Dynasty (1359), Chen Youliang acceded to the throne and proclaimed himself emperor, making Jiangzhou (now Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province) his capital. He established himself as Hanwang, with the title of Han, and changed Yuan to a righteous man, taking Zou Pusheng as his surname and Zhang Bixian as his prime minister.
