Nanchang Hangkong University, located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, science, literature, management, economics, law, teaching and art. It is a university jointly established by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and implemented by the Education and Training Plan for Outstanding Engineers of the Ministry of Education.

The school was founded in Hankou Aviation Industry School on 1952, and was renamed as Zhongnan No.1 Industrial School on 1953. 1954 moved to Nanchang, and 1956 was renamed Nanchang Aviation Industry School. 1978 was renamed Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry. In 2007, it was renamed Nanchang Hangkong University.
