Due to the epidemic, schools and colleges started classes at different times, basically in late August and early September.

Hohai University, majoring in environmental engineering, is affiliated to the School of Environment. The academic system is four years. Mr. Zhang Shunong, one of the famous founders of environmental hydraulics in China, founded the Institute of Environmental Hydraulic Science on 1978. 1986 set up the department of environmental engineering and began to recruit undergraduates majoring in environmental engineering. 1993 awarded Master of Environmental Engineering, 1998 awarded Doctor of Environmental Engineering. In 2000, the postdoctoral mobile station of environmental science and engineering was established, and in 2003, the doctor degree of environmental science and engineering was awarded.
