Harbin University of Commerce (hereinafter referred to as Harbin University of Commerce) is a teaching and research university sponsored by the state, mainly managed by Heilongjiang Province, jointly funded by the central and local governments, and headed by the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province. It is one of the ten key universities in Heilongjiang Province and a model school for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
It is the overseas study training base of China (Ministry of Education) Study Abroad Service Center, the base of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), and the institution entrusted by Heilongjiang provincial government scholarship to study in China. The school is located in Harbin, with Sun Xianmin, Party Secretary, and Zheng Qiuxian, President. The motto of the school is "be realistic and perfect, Xiu De is capable".

As of July 26th, 2022, the school has two campuses, Songbei Campus and Daoli Campus, with a total area of1140,000 square meters and a total construction area of 740,000 square meters. It has 68 undergraduate majors covering eight disciplines, such as economy, management, engineering, law, literature, science, medicine and art, 4 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points and 20 two disciplines doctors.
There are 14 master's authorization points for first-class disciplines, 72 master's authorization points for two disciplines, 4 provincial key disciplines, 1 provincial key disciplines (development and innovation of tertiary industry), 3 post-doctoral research mobile stations and 2 post-doctoral research mobile stations.
