Wenzhou University is a comprehensive teaching and research-oriented full-time ordinary college organized by Wenzhou Municipal People's Government and jointly built by provinces and cities. It is a key university in Zhejiang Province and a doctoral degree awarding unit. The school is located in Wenzhou. Currently, Party Secretary Zhang Jian and President Zhao Min. The school motto is "learn to ask questions and dare to be the first".
School size and college situation:
As of March 2022, the school has two campuses, Chashan and Xueyuan Road. The school property covers an area of 1 0,973.43 mu, and the school building covers an area of 1 0,060,600 square meters. At present, there are 20 colleges, covering 1 1 disciplines, with 1 first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 18 first-class master degree authorization points and 17 master degree authorization points.
Discipline construction:
By March, 2022, the school had 1 authorized point for doctoral degree in first-class discipline, 18 authorized point for master degree in first-class discipline and 17 authorized point for master degree. Ruian Graduate School of Wenzhou University and Zhejiang Post-doctoral Workstation were established, and doctors and post-doctors were jointly trained with 24 well-known universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad.
Ecology is the dominant discipline in Zhejiang Province. Nine disciplines, including chemistry, Chinese language and literature, electrical engineering, law, Marxist theory, applied economics, mechanical engineering, ecology and civil engineering, are the first-class disciplines in Zhejiang Province, and four disciplines, including chemistry, materials science, engineering and computer science, are ranked in the top of ESI 1%.
