Yunnan University (YNU) is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is a national key university mainly established by the Ministry of Education and Yunnan Province. It is a national "double-first-class" university construction project, a 2 1 1 project, a basic capacity-building project for universities in one province and the central and western regions, and a national first-class university construction project supported by Yunnan Province.

"11/plan", outstanding legal talents education and training plan, outstanding engineer education and training plan, national high-level university graduate program, China government scholarship institution for overseas students, national model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and "one province, one school" national key construction university (Z 14) alliance in the central and western regions.

As of March 2022, the school has two campuses, Chenggong and Donglu, covering an area of 4,363.64 mu, with a building area of 1 10,000 square meters and a library of 3.82 million books.
