Huxi Campus is a new campus of Chongqing University located in Chongqing University Town, also known as Chongqing University Area D, which is isomorphic with Area A, Area B and Area C of the old campus to form the new Chongqing University. Huxi Campus of Chongqing University is a new campus where Chongqing University started the new campus construction project in 2002. It was completed and put into use in June 2005.

As of 2022, the Huxi Campus of Chongqing University is a book. The campus is a shallow hilly area with a wide field of vision. Leshan National Forest Park in the east, Jinyun Mountain National Forest Park in the west, and Huxi River winding in the southeast boundary of the campus. At present, Huxi Campus has Foreign Languages College, Art College, Physical Education College, Hong Shen College, Journalism College, Mathematics and Statistics College, Physics College, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering College, Life Science College, Pharmacy College, Chongqing University-Cincinnati University Union College, Big Data and Software College and Science Department. At the same time, it also undertakes the task of cultivating freshmen and sophomores from more than 20 other colleges in the school.

Chongqing University

Founded in 1929, the school put forward the vision of building a "comprehensive and profound university" and developed into a comprehensive university with complete disciplines of arts, science, business and forensic medicine in the 1940s. 1952 after the adjustment of the national departments, it has become a multidisciplinary university with engineering as the mainstay. 1960 was identified as a national key university. After the reform and opening-up, the school has undergone comprehensive recovery, adjustment and reform, and has become an industry-oriented and multidisciplinary university with coordinated development. 1998 was approved as a national "2 1 1 project" to build a key university. In 2000, the former chongqing jianzhu university and Chongqing Architecture Colleges merged with Chongqing University to form the new Chongqing University, 200 1, which became the key construction university of the "985 Project". In 20 17, it was selected as the national "World-class University Construction University (Class A)", and in 2022, it was selected as the second round of "Double-class" University Construction.
