Taiyuan normal University, located in Taiyuan City and Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, is a multi-disciplinary provincial full-time undergraduate college focusing on normal education. Selected as "133 1 project" and the first batch of "three-round education" comprehensive reform pilot universities in Shanxi Province.

The predecessor of the school is Shanxi Education College, taiyuan normal College and Teachers College of Shanxi University.
