Shaanxi Railway Engineering Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as Shaanxi Railway Institute) was founded in 1973, formerly known as Weinan Railway Engineering School of the Ministry of Railways, located in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. In 2002, it was placed under the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, and in 2003, it was restructured and upgraded to a higher vocational college. The college has successively experienced major projects such as excellent evaluation of talent training level of the Ministry of Education, provincial demonstration schools, national key universities, innovative development action plan of the Ministry of Education, and new campus construction. Now it has become a national high-quality vocational college, a project construction unit of high-level vocational colleges with China characteristics, the first batch of "1+X" certificate system pilot units of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of national vocational education teachers' teaching innovation team project construction units, the first batch of "effective" universities and the Ministry of Education. The college was built by the railway, relying on the railway, and more than 60,000 graduates spread all over the motherland, becoming a new force in the construction and management of rail transit in China. College is an important base for high-speed rail construction and management personnel training in China, and is known as the "Whampoa Military Academy" for railway engineering construction personnel.
