A native of Lingling (now Yongzhou), Hunan Province, once used the name Shi Yiyuan and Shi Fenggang. He used to be an associate professor and director of philosophy department of Wuhan University, an associate professor of philosophy department of Peking University, a professor of philosophy department of Beijing Normal University, a professor of philosophy department of China Renmin University and a doctoral supervisor. Since teaching for 60 years, he has taught more than ten courses, including introduction to philosophy, ethics, philosophy of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi, philosophy of Confucius and Mencius, logic, historical materials, modern philosophy of China, Indian philosophy, Buddhism of China, and selected readings of the history of China philosophy. During his long teaching career, he published many monographs, studied Buddhism, taught and educated people, and enjoyed a high reputation in the world.

Shi Jun was a member of the Academic Committee of China Renmin University. He has served as vice president and consultant of the Chinese Society for the History of Philosophy, president of the China Society for the History of Modern Philosophy, executive director of the Chinese Religious Society, director of the Chinese Ethics Society, and member of the National Planning Group for the Arrangement and Publication of Ancient Books. 1April 1999 15 died in Beijing. He has been engaged in the research on the history of China's philosophy all his life, with outstanding achievements, and is called "Shi Gong".

Shi Gong 19 16 was born in Lingling, Hunan (now Yongzhou), and was exposed to a large number of progressive books promoting new ideas under the education and edification of his father since childhood. In middle school, Shigong got good grades in science, especially in mathematics and physics, which won the appreciation of the principal of Changsha generalized middle school at that time. Because of his interest in the course "Introduction to Chinese Studies", he taught himself Liang Qichao's "Introduction to Academic Studies in Qing Dynasty" and Hu Shi's "Outline of China's Philosophy", and was first exposed to China's philosophy. Later, under the recommendation of Yang Yanhe, a math teacher, I carefully read the History of China Philosophy by Feng Youlan (there was only the first volume at that time), so I decided to go to Beijing to study philosophy. 1934, finally admitted to the philosophy department of Peking University with excellent results. During his college years, he listened to almost all the famous liberal arts professors in Peking University, while maintaining a strong interest in natural science. 1938, Shi Gong stayed in school to teach and worked as an assistant to his tutor Tang Yongtong. 65438-0948 was employed by the Philosophy Department of Wuhan University as an associate professor and concurrently the director of Wuhan University Library. From 65438 to 0952, Shi Gong went to Peking University and started the course "History of Modern Philosophy of China" in China with Professor Feng Youlan and Professor Zhang Dainian. 1955, in order to prepare for the establishment of the philosophy department of China Renmin University, he was transferred to the National People's Congress and served as the director of the teaching and research section of philosophy history. 1963 was promoted to professor and member of the school board. 198 1 year, approved by the State Council, became one of the first batch of doctoral tutors in the history of philosophy in China.
