The college has strong scientific research strength and strong academic atmosphere. Relying on the traditional advantages of light chemical food engineering and fermentation engineering, and guided by the development of food engineering and fermentation engineering and the demand of talents in China and Northeast China, the college has set up five research directions: key technology of agricultural product processing, biotechnology of agricultural product processing, comprehensive development of plant protein resources, biological separation technology and analysis and detection technology of agricultural products. In the past three years, it has undertaken and completed more than 40 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and many achievements have won provincial and ministerial scientific and technological awards. He applied for more than 20 national patents and published more than 300 academic papers, including more than 20 papers retrieved by SCI and EI and more than 20 academic works.

The college has advanced teaching equipment and complete hardware facilities. The total value of instruments and equipment is130,000 yuan, and the laboratory area is 8,500 square meters, including a provincial key laboratory of universities, a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center and a research and development center.
