Training objectives:
This major trains senior professional and technical personnel who meet the needs of social development, have basic knowledge and professional knowledge related to polymer materials and engineering, can engage in scientific research, technology development, process design, production and management in the fields of polymer materials design, synthesis, modification, processing and application, and have pragmatic spirit and innovative ability. In order to combine the advantages of disciplines and social needs, the following three professional directions are specially set:
(1) rubber engineering direction:
Rubber engineering is the traditional specialty direction of our school. This major aims to train senior engineering and technical personnel who can engage in structural design, formula design, processing, molding and modification, product manufacturing and management of rubber products in various departments of rubber industry. Students mainly study and practice the basic theory, formula design, molding technology, production technology, product quality control and other professional knowledge of rubber-based polymer materials.
(2) Plastic engineering direction:
In recent years, the research and development strength of plastic materials and engineering in our school has become increasingly strong, which has created favorable conditions for the cultivation of high-quality talents. This major aims to cultivate senior engineering and technical personnel who can engage in product formulation design, processing, molding and modification, mold design and product manufacturing, product application research and management in various departments of the plastic industry. Students mainly study the basic theory, formula design, molding technology, production technology, mold design and product quality control of polymer materials with plastic materials as the main body.
(3) direction of polymer synthesis:
This major aims to cultivate senior engineering and technical personnel who can engage in scientific research and product development in polymer synthesis, modification of polymer materials, synthesis and characterization of functional polymers and special polymers in various departments of polymer synthesis industry. Students mainly study polymer synthesis technology, polymerization reaction engineering, functional and special polymer material design, polymer modification principles and methods, rubber and plastic processing principles, etc. Professional skills in polymer structure design and characterization, modification and processing of polymer materials.

Packaging engineering
Training objectives:
Cultivate senior engineering and technical personnel who have knowledge of packaging materials, packaging system design and application technology and management, and can engage in packaging system design, quality inspection, technical management and scientific research in commodity production and circulation, packaging enterprises, scientific research institutions, commodity inspection and trade departments.

Graduates can display their engineering and management skills in packaging product design and production enterprises, as well as the packaging departments of electronics, food and daily chemical enterprises, and the logistics departments of heavy industrial enterprises such as electromechanical and automobile, and the employment situation is good.
