Admission requirements for law graduate students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong
In addition to the general requirements of graduate schools, applicants must also:

1, with a first-class honours or second-class honours bachelor's degree (LLB) awarded by an accredited university; or

2. Holding a doctor of law (JD) degree or a master of law (LLM) degree issued by a recognized university, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above; Or have an equivalent education (including non-legal related) issued by an accredited higher education institution.

3. Applicants must meet the requirements of English language ability in the following aspects:

Hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Hong Kong or English-speaking countries, or teach mainly in English; Either the International English Language Testing Department (IELTS) has reached 7.0 or above.

The IELTS score must be obtained within two years from the date of applying for the Master of Philosophy program, or at least 587 (based on written test) or 95 (based on online test) in the TOEFL.

TOEFL scores must be obtained within two years from the date of applying for the Master of Philosophy program; Or provide other proof of English proficiency equivalent to one of the above measures.

All applicants must submit a master's research plan of no more than 3000 words as part of the application.

The research plan should include the following contents: research topic, research objectives, main issues to be discussed, summary of proposal topics, literature review, research methods and the contribution of the expected papers to the knowledge in this field. The proposal should include relevant bibliography. Applicants should also submit a personal statement and resume of no more than 1500 words.
