The expansion of Chengdong Avenue will start next year, and University Road will soon become the Three Gorges University Road.

By then, citizens will go to huanghe road from Chengdong Avenue, and they will no longer have to walk through the campus of the Three Gorges University.

According to reports, the project starts at the intersection of Daxue Road and Xiling No.2 Road, and extends northward along the boundary with No.403 Factory on the west side of Three Gorges University. After crossing Yunlin Road, it passes through Yichang Jinyang Industrial Co., Ltd., Calcium Carbide Factory of Gezhouba Materials Bureau and Zhou Wang Village, and ends at huanghe road (crossing).

The total length of the road is 2. 12km, with six lanes in both directions. The width of the red line is 30.8-39m, and a tunnel with a length of 150m is set along the road. The road grade is urban trunk road, the design speed is 50km/h, and the pavement type is asphalt concrete pavement.

The project construction mainly includes roads, drainage, passages, transportation, pipelines, lighting, greening and other projects. The estimated total investment of the project is 679.99 million yuan, and the construction period is 24 months.
