The school was formerly Jiangsu Fisheries School founded by Zhang Jian and Huang Yanpei in 19 12, and was upgraded to Shanghai Fisheries College, the first undergraduate fisheries university in China, in 1952 after being run by Fisheries College of Agricultural College of National Central University, National Sichuan Fisheries Vocational School, Shanghai Wusong Fisheries College and Shanghai Fisheries College.
As of June 5438+ 10, 2022, the school has two campuses, namely, Hucheng Ring Road Campus and Simon Road Campus, with 386 mu of coastal base and 56.7 mu of Xiangshan Science and Education Base. The main campus, Hucheng Ring Road Campus, covers an area of 1600 mu. There are 14 colleges (departments) and 44 undergraduate majors; There are 3 postdoctoral research stations, 4 first-class doctoral programs, 3 first-class master programs 1, two disciplines master programs1and 7 professional master programs. There are nearly 12000 full-time undergraduates, more than 3600 full-time graduate students and 802 international students in 20 19; Faculty 1500.
