Hong Kong Adventist College (7 pieces) Sanyu College and Sanyu Middle School, middle school department, administration building, boys' dormitory, teachers' dormitory and 5 teachers' dormitories are listed as second-class historical buildings in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Adventist College was established in Tongqingfang, Guangzhou, China 1903. At first, it was called Bethel Girls' School. About 1905, an educational boys' school was added. Five years later, the school was renamed Sanyu School. 19 15 to 19 17 two schools moved to Dongshan oxtail. 1922, the two schools merged into a coeducational school named Sanyu Middle School. 1927, it was renamed Shinto Institute. Some students moved to You Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong to start Hua 'an School. Later, it was renamed Guangzhou Training College on 1935.
1937 Japan invaded China, and the school moved to Chenlou, Shatian, Hong Kong, and was renamed South China Institute of Training. The following year, China Training Institute in Qiaotou Town also decided to return to Hong Kong because of the war. 1938 merged with Sha Tin South China Sanyu Institute and was renamed China South China Training Institute, but it was still called South China Sanyu Institute when it was registered in Hong Kong. Subsequently, the school was approved by the Hong Kong government to sell 654.38+03.74 million square feet of Clear Water Bay Road in Sai Kung as a permanent school site. 1939 completed the first phase of construction, and continued to cooperate with China Sanyu Research Institute after moving to the new site.
194 1 When the Pacific War broke out, the school moved back to Laolong, Guangdong Province to continue its school affairs, and still carried out and developed its education work during the war. After the war, because the school buildings in Hong Kong were still borrowed by the British army, it was impossible to move back to Hong Kong immediately. Temporarily moved back to Sanyu Road, Dongshan, Guangzhou, and the building of Sanyu Sanitary Food Factory was converted into a temporary school building. It was not until 1947 that I returned to Clear Water Bay in Hong Kong to resume my studies. In the early postwar period, it was still called "South China Sanyu Research Association", but it was renamed Sanyu Middle School again between 1952 and 1953.
1962 when the college was established, it was renamed as South China United College, with a secondary college department attached, and then it was registered as a college with the approval of the government. 198 1 was officially named Hong Kong Adventist College in the autumn. I stopped accepting Secondary One students in September 2007.
