In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation results released by the Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education, Central South University has 40 first-level disciplines participating in the evaluation, and 12 A disciplines rank first 10%, with an excellent rate of 26%, among which metallurgical engineering, mining engineering and nursing were rated as A+ disciplines.

Five disciplines, including school mathematics, materials science and engineering, metallurgical engineering, mining engineering and transportation engineering, were selected into the list of "double first-class" construction disciplines.
