Liaoyuan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time college approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was Liaoyuan Mining Institute 1958, which was established in August. It is a national pilot college for training skilled talents in short supply and a model higher vocational college in Jilin Province.
The college is divided into three campuses, the headquarters, the medical branch and the adult campus. The school covers an area of 332,600 square meters, with a building area of 15 1600 square meters. There are 420,000 paper books, 2 100GB electronic books, 46.02 million yuan of teaching instruments and equipment, and 43 majors in 7 departments. The total number of teachers is 4 1 1 person, and the full-time students in ordinary higher vocational colleges are 590 1 person.

1In July, 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Jilin Industrial School, Liaoyuan Vocational College and Liaoyuan Branch of Jilin Radio and TV University merged to form Liaoyuan Vocational and Technical College.
In 2007, it was identified as the first batch of key demonstration higher vocational colleges by the Education Department of Jilin Province.
