Professional Introduction of Navigation College of Ningbo University
The three undergraduate majors of the Institute of Navigation enroll students in two categories: navigation (navigation technology, marine engineering) and economic management (logistics management). 1, navigation technology.

Training objective: to train senior navigation technical personnel who are fully developed morally, intellectually and physically, meet the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW78/95 Convention) and China's Standards of Seafarers' Competency, and can be competent for modern ship driving and management. Students graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Main courses: navigation, ship structure and equipment, ship manipulation, ship watch and collision avoidance, maritime cargo transportation, maritime meteorology and oceanography, maritime English, maritime instruments, maritime radar and ARPA, GMDSS communication, ocean transportation and maritime law, ship safety and management, etc.

Employment of students: domestic and foreign shipping enterprises, international seafarers' labor assignment, shipping agency, naval forces, public security frontier and marine police forces, maritime system and shipping management departments (national civil servants or postgraduate entrance examination), etc. Employment rate of graduates in recent three years 100%.

2. Ocean engineering.

Training objective: to train senior engineering management talents who are fully developed morally, intellectually and physically, meet the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW78/95 Convention) and China's Standards of Seafarers' Competency, and can carry out modern ship electromechanical management. Students graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Main courses: mechanical design, engineering thermodynamics and heat transfer, circuit and electronic technology, marine engineering materials, marine electrical equipment and systems, marine diesel engines, marine auxiliaries, marine power plant technical management, marine engine maintenance technology, marine automation, marine English, marine safety and management, etc.

Employment of students: domestic and foreign shipping enterprises, international seafarers' labor assignment, shipping agents, shipyards and ship inspection departments, naval forces, public security frontier and marine police forces, maritime systems and shipping management departments (national civil servants or postgraduate entrance examinations), etc. Employment rate of graduates in recent three years 100%.

3. Logistics management.

Training objective: to train applied modern logistics management professionals with all-round development and basic theories and skills required by logistics management. Students graduated with a bachelor's degree in management.

Main courses: management principles, microeconomics, management information system, logistics foundation, logistics operation research, supply chain management, transportation, e-commerce, enterprise logistics management, statistical principles, accounting principles, logistics system planning and design, international shipping management, etc.

Employment of students: domestic and foreign shipping and logistics enterprises, transportation, shipping agents, freight forwarders, warehousing, large-scale retail and manufacturing industries are engaged in the planning and management of logistics systems, and engaged in the development and research work in logistics technical service enterprises and universities. 4. Marine engineering of ship construction.

Training objective: to train all-round senior engineering and technical personnel with basic knowledge and skills of modern ship and ocean engineering design, research, construction and management. Students graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Main courses: theoretical mechanics, material mechanics, fluid mechanics of ship and ocean engineering, structural mechanics of ship and ocean engineering, structural design methods of ship and ocean structure, ship handling and seakeeping, ship and ocean engineering principles, mechanical and hull drawing, computer-aided design, modern shipbuilding engineering application software, etc.

Employment of students: Research and design units of ship and ocean engineering, shipyards, ship inspection and insurance institutions, shipping and port departments, shipping and maritime departments, universities and navies and other related units are engaged in the research, design, manufacture, management and teaching of ship and ocean engineering structures.
