The school was founded on 19 12, formerly known as Changsha Red Cross Nursing Training College founded by Yan Fuqing, a famous medical educator who returned from the United States, and formally established Changsha Shu Ren Nursing School on 1924. 196 1 moved from Changsha to Anjiang to establish qianyang district health school, 1984 moved to Huaihua and changed its name to Huaihua district health school.
