Shangrao Teachers College is located in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is a full-time undergraduate school approved by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and Shangrao Municipal People's Government. The predecessor of the school is Shangrao Teachers College, which was established in 1958. 1959 was renamed northeastern Jiangxi University and closed during the Cultural Revolution. 1977 school resumed classes, and was upgraded to Shangrao Normal College with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Provincial People's Government in March 2000. In June, 2005, it passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education.
