Zhixing College of Northwest Normal University was established in 1999, and was recognized as the first independent college by the Ministry of Education in 2004. It is a full-time ordinary college with independent legal personality, brand-new mechanism and mode. The college enrolls students for the whole country, and the enrollment plan is included in the national general higher education unified recruitment plan.
The School of Extended Information Knowing and Doing of Northwest Normal University now has 12 departments (departments), 10 functions, including China Language and Literature Department, Foreign Language and Literature Department, Journalism and Media Department, Law Department, Mathematics Department, Computer and Electronic Information Engineering Department, Economic Management Department, Art Department, Education Management Department, Environmental Science and Engineering Department, Public Curriculum Teaching Department and Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department.
There are 32 full-time undergraduate majors in Chinese language and literature, journalism, English, translation, Spanish, business English, law, applied statistics, Internet of Things engineering, digital media technology, business administration, accounting, taxation, preschool education, psychology, education, environmental engineering, fine arts, environmental design, visual communication design, animation, product design and advertising.
In 2020, the college will recruit 2 145 national full-time undergraduates for Hebei, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hainan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Gansu and other provinces (regions). The college currently has 7979 undergraduates.
