Xu Gang, male, was born in June 1959, from Leshan, Sichuan. 1June, 985, graduated from the former Southwest Normal University with a master's degree in physical geography. In June of the same year, he taught in the geography department of Southwest Normal University. In June 2002, he was promoted to professor. Now he is the tutor of master's degree in physical geography of Southwest University. Director of Chongqing Geographical Society and Director of Urban Geographical Committee. Long-term engaged in teaching and research of physical geography, geomorphology and disaster science. The courses taught are: undergraduate geomorphology, physical geography and natural resources; Postgraduate courses include earth system science, geomorphology, natural disasters and prevention. He has successively presided over the Chongqing soft science project "Risk Assessment of Mountain Torrential Disaster in Chongqing Urban Area and Countermeasures for Flood Control and Disaster Reduction" and the Chongqing Natural Science Foundation project "Study on Self-organized Criticality and Prediction of Slope Debris Flow"; He is mainly engaged in more than 20 provincial and ministerial research projects, such as "Chongqing Urban Geomorphology Pilot Study", "1:4 million China Geomorphology Full Map Study" and "Study on Mountain Disasters and Countermeasures in Gaoxian County of South Sichuan Basin". "Study on Mountain Disasters and Defense Planning in the Upper Reaches of Heishuitan River in Jiangbei District" and "Preliminary Study on Urban Geomorphology in Chongqing" won the second prize of Chongqing Soft Science Achievement.
