North University for Nationalities, directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, is a comprehensive ethnic college. The school is located in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and is the only ministerial-level university in China.
The school, formerly known as Northwest Second University for Nationalities, was founded in 1984 and renamed North University for Nationalities in 2008. The school is a bachelor's, master's and doctor's degree awarding unit approved by the State Council Academic Degree Office.
Scientific research and construction
The school has solidly promoted the deep integration of education and teaching with innovation and entrepreneurship education. Implement the innovation and entrepreneurship education mode of "ideological and political education+general education+professional education+innovation and entrepreneurship education+labor education".
Establish a trinity practice platform of "innovation and entrepreneurship team+innovation and entrepreneurship practice+school-enterprise cooperation practice" supported by resource sharing, interest-driven, interdisciplinary, respect for individuality, independent learning and independent management.
It has formed a good situation of "innovation leads entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship drives employment". The school was rated as the first batch of "Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Business Incubator Demonstration Base", "Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Science and Technology Business Incubator" and "Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Double Creation Demonstration Base", and was awarded "the first batch of 100 demonstration universities in China to deepen innovation and entrepreneurship education reform" by the Ministry of Education.
It was awarded the third batch of "National Entrepreneurship Incubation Demonstration Base" by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the title of "National Youth Entrepreneurship Demonstration Park" by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.
