In the past 20 years, the teaching management level of the school has been greatly improved by perfecting rules and regulations, introducing competition mechanism, perfecting curriculum management, strengthening practical teaching and being strict in examination discipline. It has formed a good style of study with rigorous and earnest scholarship, and won a wide social reputation with high-quality graduates. 1987 and 1989 were named as "advanced units in educational reform" by Qiqihar Municipal People's Government and Heilongjiang Province respectively. At the end of 1989, the school was determined as a key, first-class and up-to-standard school in Heilongjiang Province by the comprehensive evaluation of the provincial education commission, and ranked second in the comprehensive evaluation and appraisal of adult colleges and universities in Heilongjiang Province from 1997. 1992 was named "National Advanced School" by the State Education Commission.
