First of all, introduce my basic situation: I am a statistics major in 985, and my professional ranking is between 40% and 50%. The academic performance of freshmen and sophomores is not very good, and juniors began to study hard, slightly better. Prepare for the exam at the beginning of June. Study 7-8 hours a day in summer vacation, and 9- 10 hours a day after school starts. My first test scores are: politics: 82, English: 78, mathematics: 132, statistics: 137 (the first place in professional courses). Next, I will share my experience and feelings about preparing for the exam according to the exam subjects.
I. Politics
I don't have much time to prepare politics, but the effect is good, so I don't think I can ignore or even give up politics because of preparing other subjects, because its "cost performance" is relatively high.
I started studying politics in September. From September to 10, I listened to Xu Tao's intensive reading class and watched Xiao Xiurong's intensive reading class. I marked some key contents and got a preliminary understanding of the overall knowledge.
1At the end of 0/0, I began to do the 1000 problem of Teacher Xiao Xiurong. I planned to do it twice, and finally managed to finish it once, but this time I did it seriously. I will look at Mr. Xiao's summary of knowledge points first, review the main contents of this section, then close the book and do it, and then summarize the mistakes after I finish.
This time it's almost 1 1 the end of the month. At this time, Xiao Ba also came out and began to do the real questions of Xiao Ba and previous years, all of which were multiple-choice questions. Hachi is more difficult. Generally, I can only get about 30 points for multiple-choice questions, and the real questions are relatively simple, and I can get about 40 points. After the analysis, make every question and every option clear. All unknown or uncertain knowledge points are marked on the test paper with a marker, so it is not necessary to waste time copying and sorting out. If you look back later, you can look directly at the marked part of the test paper.
At the end of this stage, it was1early February, and I started to work in Xiao Si. First, do multiple-choice questions, but also like the small eight and the real questions. About ten days before the exam, I began to recite Xiao Si's big questions, mainly the core points. I understood the rest and expressed them in my own words during the exam. It is best to recite them all, but sometimes there may not be enough time to recite so much. Teacher Xiao Xiurong will give a lecture. You can listen to it and talk about the order of importance of the big questions, so that you can decide the order of reciting or give up a few things that are unlikely to be tested.
Political multiple-choice questions are more important, and if the big questions are recited seriously, the gap between us will not be too big. Multiple-choice questions don't need to be memorized by rote, but more depends on understanding, so I think politics can be memorized later, but don't start classes or read books too late (I personally think August is good, and I feel that time is a little tight from September). In the process of making multiple-choice questions and reading books, we can consciously sum up some expression rules. Different concepts will correspond to different expressions. You can refer to the leg sister skills class (I listened to the first two classes for a long time, and her summary was similar to my own feelings, so I didn't listen later, so I can listen if necessary). In addition, some scattered time can also be used to prepare for politics. For example, when going back and forth between the library and the dormitory, Xu Tao's class can be played as background music.
Second, English 1
English is divided into two parts: objective questions include cloze, reading and new questions, and subjective questions include translation and composition.
First of all, reading is a very important part of objective questions. On the one hand, reading accounts for a large proportion of scores; On the other hand, cloze and new questions are also very dependent on reading ability, so my initial English review focuses on reading. I did well in the college entrance examination, but after I entered the university, I slacked my study and basically didn't learn English. The most important factor that hinders my reading is vocabulary, so it is very necessary to recite words every day. I recite words in ink, which feels more suitable for me. On the one hand, I only need to look at a word to recognize it, so the ink and ink memory method is more in line with the needs. On the other hand, Momo will arrange a review plan according to the memory situation, and remember it repeatedly to prevent forgetting after memorizing.
Besides memorizing words, reading exercises are also essential. I bought teacher Zhang Jian's reading comprehension in the summer vacation and wrote one every day, mainly to cultivate the feeling of reading. After that, I marked the Chinese meanings of words I didn't know in the text for morning reading. At first, the reading speed is very slow, usually it takes 20-30 minutes to do a reading, but after more than two months, the speed is much faster, and one is within 15 minutes. Read the real questions after September. I suggest you use a pencil, and you must do it again, because there are few English reference materials, mainly relying on real questions.
I've almost finished reading it. I can finish typing and new questions. Gestalt has become simpler than before in recent years, so don't be discouraged if you make many mistakes in the previous gestalt. I don't have much experience in cloze, mainly relying on reading ability and word accumulation. In addition, the number of four options in 20 questions is generally around 5, so I can use this to make a choice when I hesitate. The new questions are more about sorting and filling in the blanks with seven choices and five choices, and there are fewer subtitles, which I think is the simplest. Sorting mainly lies in sorting out the logical structure of the article and making good use of the paragraphs that have been given order. 5 in 7 is a special gestalt, which needs to pay attention to the cohesion of paragraph content and context.
The subjective part, 1 1 month began to prepare. By this time, reading has improved, and translation will not be too difficult. You can practice one article every day and concentrate on summing up. In addition, composition is also the key part of my preparation for the exam, and the composition score is second only to reading, which occupies a very important position in the whole paper.
When I was preparing my composition, I adopted He's writing high score strategy. He Laoshi thinks that the most important thing in writing a big composition for postgraduate entrance examination is language, followed by structure and finally content. The big composition of English one is a cartoon composition. We can understand comics from different angles, as long as the content is relevant and not off topic, the focus of preparation can be on language and structure. Accordingly, during the period of 1 1 month, I read a model essay on a real topic every day, kept the sentences that I think can be used universally, and then constructed a new composition on other topics with the previously reserved sentences. By repeating this process, I screened the sentences I chose, and finally I can form a template that can be used regardless of the topic.
Small composition is more practical than big composition, so the language requirement is not so high and it can be practical. Therefore, preparing a small composition is mainly to understand different application scenarios, have something to say about different scenarios, and spread your thoughts more.
Third, mathematics II
Math two has no experience to share. But let's review my preparation process.
Considering the math morning exam, my review time is arranged every morning, with an average of three hours a day. At the beginning of June, I began to review basic concepts, using teacher Li Yongle's review book instead of reading the textbook, which may lead to my math review being not solid at the beginning. During the period, the progress was slow, and I didn't finish reviewing the first round until the beginning of August, so I was in a state of roughly understanding what to take in Math II. Therefore, if you are a classmate with poor math foundation like me, you must start reviewing math as soon as possible, at least understand the basic concepts as soon as possible.
In August, I used teacher Zhang Yu's closed-door practice in the second round of review. There are more topics than I expected, so the time spent is beyond my plan. I didn't finish the second round until the middle of 10. At this time, the knowledge is still relatively good. If you can do the questions, you will start to brush the real questions. But because I wanted to keep the real questions in recent years for simulation, I brushed them backwards, which led me to think that the second test of mathematics was quite simple at first (the feeling of doing real questions before 15), but by 1 1 month, I did the real questions after 16, and found that mathematics became much more difficult. I think everyone can experience the problems in recent years and have a bottom view of the difficulties they have to face. In addition, in the process of doing real questions, I found that many people have done closed-door training, which greatly affected my judgment of my ability. So if you want to use closed-door training or other reference materials containing real questions, you should consider at what stage.
1 1 I started to make simulation papers in the middle of the month, trying to improve my computing ability, because it took me three hours to finish the real questions in recent years. I have done all the main ones, but they are different from the real questions, or the difficulty is not up to the requirements, or the thinking of writing the questions is different from the real questions. Therefore, simulating what the test paper did doesn't actually mean what you will get in the exam. More importantly, it may be to make the basic knowledge solid and the real questions thorough.
Fourth, statistics.
Statistics is a subject that I did well in the exam. Although I really spent a lot of time on professional courses, it was largely due to the fruitful plans of my seniors. Senior students attach great importance to the cultivation of statistical thinking, and also emphasize the importance of thinking in improving the dimension, which helps us to have a more comprehensive and thorough understanding of statistics than just textbooks.
Because I just finished the courses of stochastic process, statistical calculation and so on next semester, and I made up the probability theory and mathematical statistics that I didn't learn well before, so generally speaking, the statistical foundation is slightly better than mathematics. In addition, according to the examination time in statistics, I arranged the review time in the afternoon, with an average of three to four hours a day.
In June, I started reading Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics by Mr. Yan. Watch a lesson every day and finish the after-school questions. I took a notebook to write after-school questions. On the one hand, exercise yourself to write the answers clearly. On the other hand, it is convenient to find the wrong question before, and brush it again in the second round. Some difficult contents in the later period will take 2-3 days. Every time I finish reading a chapter, I will listen to the lectures of my seniors, and add notes where I don't understand thoroughly and pay attention.
This process lasted until the beginning of school in September, and the study of variance analysis and regression analysis was interspersed with the progress of seniors. These two parts focus on thinking methods, and need to be able to write the steps and ideas clearly without the help of books, so I just learned the content once, and then summarized it again when I was near the exam to practice writing and expression. Regression also has some parts involving calculation and proof, such as blue proof. These contents are not particularly difficult, but you need to write them several times in case you can't write them during the exam. When reviewing the return, I learned from the method of a senior team: close the book and write down the content according to the process, then open the book to compare and see where there are omissions.
In September, I began to study the "Basis of Probability Theory" by Li Xianping. Teacher Li Xianping's book is very interesting. You can take a closer look when you have time, and there are supporting study guides. Teacher Li has his own considerations about the content and order of teaching materials. For example, in the part of limit theorem, he wrote it according to the development of historical research, and introduced the ins and outs of limit theorem, not just the content. In addition, he also extended the basic content in many ways to meet different learning needs, and at the same time brought us a lot of practical thinking. As far as the exam is concerned, this book is more difficult than Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics written by teacher Yan, but it is far from enough for students who take the exam to master it as much as possible, especially the limit theorem in Chapter 5. However, some topics in this book actually deviate from the requirements of our exam, so you can consider them yourself when doing the questions.
10, I studied mathematical statistics edited by Mr. Yan and Mr. Lu Xiaoling. This book also supplements probability theory and mathematical statistics, mainly supplementing exponential distribution family, completeness and complete statistics. This part is difficult but important and needs to be clarified.
After that, I read these books for the second time, found out the wrong questions in the first round, and sorted out some expressions of composition questions. Although I didn't pass the exam this year, it is helpful to cultivate my own statistical thinking. In addition, I did the real questions and listened to the test paper according to my senior's schedule, but I still can't understand some of them, and there are also problems that I have consulted but haven't solved in the end. It doesn't matter if everyone is like this. There is no need to have too much psychological burden. Every year, the National People's Congress will have some problems, and no one will. The key is not to lose points where you shouldn't.
Fifth, the second interview
There are almost seven or eight teachers in a classroom during the second interview, and you are thrown on the big screen. It takes about 15-20 minutes to interview a person. Before the official start, the teacher will give you a set of questions (not your own), then show you that the questions are completely sealed, and then the interview will begin. The main types of questions are English translation (Chinese-English translation), statistical knowledge answer and open-ended questions.
First of all, English translation, unless you are really a big English cow, is actually similar to everyone. English translation is Chinese-English translation, involving various fields, not necessarily statistics, but also economics, industry, COVID-19 epidemic and so on. * * * There are three translators, all in the form of the teacher reading Chinese to you on the spot (thief is quick), so you can translate orally. Don't be too happy. You can prepare a blank sheet of paper to remember the key words. There may be only one sentence in the first two sentences, but it is really difficult for the teacher to remember (crack) after reading it. If you really can't hear clearly, you can ask the teacher to read it again (but pay attention to controlling the time. If it takes too much time, the teacher won't repeat it. The third translation cannot be described as "sentence". At this time, I don't recommend reciting words, because I may have finished reading the teacher before I finished reciting them, and then I stopped listening. It's best to listen attentively. Of course, most of us may have poor English, and even if we hear it clearly, we may not be able to translate it. It doesn't really matter. Try to translate what you can, even if there is only one word in a sentence, say it. As long as we say it, the teacher will give points. At that time, I got the topic that the industrial economy increased by 7 percentage points year-on-year and month-on-month, and some students got COVID-19's vocabulary. In fact, to tell the truth, none of us are English majors, and the teacher won't be particularly difficult for you. It doesn't matter even if you don't do well in the exam, because everyone is actually similar. Don't be confused and adjust your mind to take the following exam.
Let's talk about the second module, that is, the module to examine professional knowledge. Don't learn by rote, because teachers can't get much Mandarin in books. He will let you know a statistical knowledge, such as "How do you understand linear regression", "What do you think linear regression is better", "What do you think its coefficients represent" and "Can you introduce the empirical equation"? The teacher mainly wants to check whether the students really understand the statistical knowledge. Of course, some lucky students can directly get the "difference and connection between interval estimation and hypothesis testing", but I still suggest summarizing it in my own words, so that the teacher can feel that you really understand it, rather than memorizing it.
The last module is the open question. According to the previous time-consuming, the teacher may ask more questions or less questions in this module. I spent a lot of time in front, and after the teacher asked me a question in this module, I talked for a long time, so. . . . Just one question. You have to work hard to get a score in this area. Open-ended questions are more like talking to teachers, and you can express your opinions on the questions at will (provided that they are reasonable). When asked, "Tell me about your favorite subject, and why", some students asked, "What statistical model did you use for your undergraduate course, and talk about your understanding of it". These questions may be based on your resume, so students who have not done statistical models should not panic.
Sixth, write it at the end.
Postgraduate entrance examination is a very unforgettable and important experience for me. Only after passing the postgraduate entrance examination will I know the difficulty of this process. The difficulty lies not only in preparing for the four subjects in a few months, but also in too many things to worry about, and it is easy to get lost without clear guidance. From the beginning of determining the target institution, you need to search all kinds of information and measure your level. In the process of preparation, you should think about how I should review, what materials to use, pay attention to various time points such as registration and on-site confirmation, and even contact the hotel yourself.
But after all this, no matter what the result is, we have grown up. In the later life, we may not be told how to go most of the time. Postgraduate entrance examination is our decision on the future direction. With this experience, we will know more about what we want and how to work hard. I hope everyone can stick to their initial intentions and wish everyone can realize their dreams.
