Kashi University, located in Kashgar City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is an engineering university for the basic capacity building of universities in the central and western regions, and one of the 100 pilot universities in China. The school was founded in 1962, formerly known as Kashgar Teachers College.
