This summer vacation, in response to the call of social practice in Computer College, I also planned and participated in a practice according to my own potential, which was actually a one-month summer tutor. The target is two junior high school students, and the teaching course is English. Because they are all about to enter the crucial third semester. Therefore, the burden on my shoulders is very heavy. In addition to teaching them written knowledge, I also want to teach them some junior high school learning experience.

The following is my practice diary:

First of all, it is to investigate and analyze the situation of most family education or compulsory education in society at this stage, so as to absorb favorable factors, take a short time, get twice the result with half the effort, and impart efficient and practical knowledge to students.

In the process of investigation and analysis, I contacted several students of Chaozhou Hanshan Teachers College and asked them a lot about their experience in family education, and reached the following conclusions:

First of all, in Chaozhou city, most primary schools, junior high schools and senior high school students have hired tutors, some on weekends and some during normal hours, lasting about two hours at a time. In addition to urban areas, some towns or urban-rural fringe, the phenomenon of tutoring is also quite large. There are also several tutoring centers in the city, which were not available before. So what's wrong with this phenomenon? Personally, I think this phenomenon has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that more and more students make full use of their spare time to make up their classroom knowledge, enrich their spare time study life, improve their learning efficiency and learning efficiency, and absorb many efficient learning methods from their brothers and sisters. What's the harm? In my opinion, this phenomenon is too frequent, which will encourage students' bad learning attitude. Some students often think that they can make up lessons after class, so class is much easier than before. Moreover, 99% of the teaching quality of family education or compulsory education is not as good as that of school teachers, and some even emphasize quality and light weight, just teaching students what to say, so many experienced students lament afterwards, in fact, family education is nothing more than that. Moreover, because family education is becoming more and more popular, it is easy for many families to blindly follow suit, and the situation of family education has become a topic for many families after dinner. As the first two normal students introduced, many families with average economic conditions also began to hire tutors.

Secondly, the economic benefits of college students engaging in family education activities are good. It is said that two hours of tutoring at a time can get the salary around 40 yuan. Therefore, many college students regard this kind of tutoring as a part-time job after school, so many students blindly seek tutoring for economic benefits and spend a lot of spare time on tutoring, which delays their study. In addition, the personal potential of educators is also uneven, and the quality of family education is not optimistic.

Finally, according to the previous students' analysis, I think that if we want to do this family education well, we must first make a lot of preparations. First of all, I asked and analyzed the learning situation of two students, including study habits, academic achievements, learning methods and learning ideas. These two students have good grades, high consciousness and similar grades. The purpose of this tutorial is to further improve your grades and lay a good foundation for the senior high school entrance examination. So, I spent one night making a study plan for them:

This tutor is divided into two stages:

First, consolidate the basic knowledge.

The so-called consolidation of basic knowledge is to review the key knowledge learned in senior one and senior two, because in senior three, the teaching plan will be different from before, and the teaching methods will be different. Many teachers usually skim over some repetitive knowledge points and focus on new English grammar or word sentence analysis. However, many students will inevitably feel unfamiliar with many old knowledge points, so they leave questions in class, forget or can't solve them after class, but they won't ask the teacher questions, so the questions are piling up, and the old and the new are mixed, so it's too late to look back at the final review.

After the beginning, according to the textbook, I summarized the contents of their senior one and senior two studies, which were divided into eight categories: nouns, articles, numerals, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs, prepositions, verbs and their tenses, and sentences. Each class is divided into two to four classes according to the amount of materials, and the explanation process pays attention to the use of examples. Through examples, the complicated grammar knowledge is simplified, and the boring language knowledge points are concretized, so that students can absorb it more easily and strengthen their application potential. After each kind of review, conduct a test, check and fill in the gaps in time, and train students to draw inferences. At the same time, it pays more attention to the cultivation of students' oral potential. For example, students are required to get rid of the habit of memorizing words. Inspire them to remember words by using pronunciation rules. For example, the word "American" is difficult to recite. But it is much easier to remember words by phonograph, such as A/e (and many similar letters have the same pronunciation), so remembering words is not only simple but also not easy to forget.

In addition, while reviewing eight kinds of knowledge points, I think English for senior high school entrance examination requires a high vocabulary. I also selected some representative questions in the after-class exercises of English books to improve my vocabulary and review.

Half a month has passed and the basic knowledge has been reviewed. I selected some test questions and combined them into a test paper to examine the learning achievements of this half month and sum up the problems so as to make a better speech in the next stage.

Second, preview the lessons of the new semester in advance.

After the basic knowledge consolidation training in the first half of the month, the two students have basically mastered the main points I taught and become more and more familiar with my teaching methods. Many knowledge points can be integrated without my in-depth analysis. In this way, it also laid a great foundation for the next stage.

At this stage, I explain the new curriculum of the first semester of Grade Three unit by unit. At the beginning of each unit, I will explain the new words in the text first, combined with sentence vocabulary, as the school teacher usually does, and then dictate immediately the next day. Then introduce new words in common sentences, understand the meaning of words in sentences, understand and remember the words learned in the text, and introduce new grammar points through in-depth analysis of the text. During the break, my students and I also talk in English as much as possible and use what we have learned.

Short conversations can cultivate the potential of language communication. Every time I go to a new unit, I will preview the English paragraphs in the text first, and then do the questions by myself, telling students to preview the articles in the text in advance before answering my questions, instead of simply following the topics practiced after class.

I often have interactive activities in the process of explaining the text. For example, I will ask students to prepare in advance, make a guest appearance on my protagonist, choose a text, let him be a teacher and give us a lecture, and then I will comment with another student, which can improve students' courage to answer questions in class and their oral English, and also improve their potential for self-organization and generalization. In the dictation of words, I also made full use of the spirit of two students spelling each other and adopted the method of encouragement. For example, students are allowed to have a rest 10 minutes during non-rest time, such as watching TV activities. This effect lies in urging both sides to study hard and never admit defeat.

After-class exercises are also an indispensable part of each unit, and this time I regard after-class exercises as a small test of each unit and conduct unit tests in strict accordance with the number of questions.

On the penultimate day, we took the tutor's last "final" exam. The examination materials are the materials of the whole tutor, including the first semester of senior one, senior two and senior three. After the exam, I embarrassed two apprentices. I ordered them to write a summary of this tutor tonight, all in English, and publish it tomorrow.

On the last day, I spent an hour explaining the examination paper. I'm glad that their scores are all above 80, and I didn't waste my general painstaking education. Finally, their summary, of course, contains a lot of pleasantries, and also puts forward some small requirements for me, saying that it can be improved next time.

In this way, the one-month counseling practice was successfully concluded. I can't say that I have benefited a lot, but I think this tutor really made me realize the bitterness and suffering of a teacher, and also made me admire and respect the sacred profession of teachers more.
