Yanbian University, referred to as "Yanda", is located in Yanji City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province. It is the national "world-class discipline construction university", the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university, the key construction university of western development, the Jilin Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education. He was selected into the basic capacity building project of colleges and universities in the central and western regions, the national postgraduate plan for building high-level universities, the excellent doctoral education and training plan, the excellent agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan, "11plan", the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students in China, and the Chinese education base of the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and was awarded "1+/kloc-0".

The school was founded in 1949, once under the Ministry of Higher Education of the State Council, and was transferred to Jilin Province in 1957. From August 65438 to August 0958, Yanbian University was divided into Yanbian University, Yanbian Medical College, Yanbian Agricultural College and Yanbian Institute of Technology. 1996 With the approval of the former State Education Commission, the former Yanbian University, Yanbian Medical College, Yanbian Agricultural College, Yanbian Normal College and Yanbian Branch of Jilin Art College merged to form a new Yanbian University. In September of the same year, Yanbian University of Science and Technology, a Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution, was merged into Yanbian University.
