Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics, referred to as Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics, is located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. Supported by Central University of Finance and Economics, university of international business and economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and China Academy of Social Sciences. It is a university in the central and western regions of the country.

The national model universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, the key training base of the "English Strengthening Project for Young and Middle-aged Cadres in the West" of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and the doctoral degree awarding units have been selected into the national university students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan. They are the strategic alliance of the "Belt and Road" universities, the Silk Road University Alliance, and the first-class discipline construction alliance of finance and economics.

The school started from the Administrative Cadre School of Gansu Provincial People's Government established on 1952; 1958, upgraded to Gansu Institute of Finance and Economics, under the leadership of Gansu Provincial People's Government.

Implementing undergraduate education; 198 1 Lanzhou business college was established, and was led by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Internal Trade of People's Republic of China (PRC) successively. 1998, the central and local governments established a management system, mainly in Gansu; 20 15 was renamed Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics.
