It is also a national first-class university and a world-class discipline construction university supported by Hebei Province, and a member of Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance.

Since 2000, Yanshan University has successively won 17 national science and technology awards, including 2 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 3 second prizes of national technological invention awards and 3 second prizes of national natural science awards, and has undertaken more than 800 projects of "973", "863", National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Foundation.
