In 2003, with the approval of Shihezi University, the experimental teaching center of food science and engineering of Food College was formally established. In September 2009, it was approved as an experimental teaching demonstration center at the autonomous region level.

Starting with the cultivation and construction of teachers, the experimental center constantly improves the academic level and academic level of teachers. With a total area of 2026 square meters, the experimental center has modern instruments and equipment such as gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, semi-preparative liquid chromatography, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer, texture analyzer, vacuum freeze dryer, molecular distillation equipment, spray drying, ultra-high pressure sterilization, supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, modified atmosphere storage experimental equipment and so on. There are more than 829 sets of equipment in the center, with a total value of nearly10.04 million yuan. The experimental center undertakes the experimental teaching tasks of 9 majors in 5 colleges, involving science and engineering and agriculture. In recent years, the staff of the experimental teaching center has undertaken 34 scientific research projects 134, including the national science and technology "supporting plan" project, the national natural fund project, the national "spark plan", the provincial and ministerial level, and the school level, with a total project funding of 20.3205 million yuan, including 3 second prizes, 7 third prizes and 5 second prizes for scientific and technological progress of the Eighth Agricultural Division.
