Fuzhou University, referred to as Dafu for short, is located in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and was founded in 1958. It is a national "double-class" construction university, a national "2 1 1 project" construction university, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Fujian Provincial People's Government, and one of the three key high-level universities in Fujian Province.

First-class universities in Fujian Province have been selected into the National Postgraduate Plan for Building High-level Universities, the first batch of universities with excellent engineer education and training plan by the Ministry of Education, the new engineering research and practice project, the "Hundred Schools Project" project of Data China, the national "11plan" and the "Promotion Plan of Internationalized Demonstration Colleges of Universities".
