The Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University is one of the oldest departments in Tsinghua University. As early as 19 16, Tsinghua University (the predecessor of Tsinghua University) began to recruit students studying in the United States majoring in civil engineering. 1925, Tsinghua University established the undergraduate department. 1926, the school established the engineering department, including civil engineering, machinery and electronics, which officially opened the history of the civil engineering department. 1928 Tsinghua University was renamed as "National Tsinghua University", with four colleges of arts, science, law and engineering, and 16 departments, including the Department of Civil Engineering.
