According to the latest news released by the Fisheries College of Huazhong Agricultural University, Gao team has cultivated Wuchang fish (Megalobrama amblycephala) fry completely without intermuscular thorns, which is expected to be popularized on a large scale. Using the obtained first generation hybrid (F0 generation), the Wuchang fish fry without intermuscular spines was bred by male-female mating (F 1 generation). Before the development of aquaculture technology, Wuchang fish mainly relied on natural fishing. Because of its slow growth rate, it is easily affected by the environment and its output is unstable. Farmers not only pay attention to the growth environment of Wuchang fish, but also improve the breeding technology by breeding excellent varieties, which makes the quality of Wuchang fish improve continuously.
