Changsha University of Science and Technology (CSUST), located in Changsha, Hunan Province, is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Transport and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It belongs to the "National First-class University Building University" in Hunan Province and was selected as the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest".
The Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" and the Ministry of Education's "Innovative Experiment Program for College Students" are members of China Electric Power University Alliance, Green Transportation Alliance and China-Russia Jiaotong University Alliance. It is a typical university with graduates' employment experience and a model university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in China.
Changsha University of Science and Technology was formed by the merger of Changsha Jiaotong University and Changsha Institute of Electric Power in 2003. The predecessor of Changsha Jiaotong University is Changsha Navigation Engineering School founded by Ministry of Communications 1956, and the predecessor of Changsha Electric Power Institute is Changsha Hydropower School founded by Ministry of Electric Power Industry 1956.
Hunan Water Conservancy and Hydropower School founded by 1956 and Hunan Light Industry School founded by 1958 (later renamed Hunan Institute of Light Industry) merged into the original Changsha Institute of Electric Power in 200 1 and 2002.
As of June, 2022 165438+ 10, the school has two campuses, Jinpenling and Yuntang, covering an area of 2,980 mu, with a total construction area of 1.4 million square meters and 3.6 million paper books in the library. There are 22 teaching colleges, 1 independent colleges, 1 continuing education colleges and 85 undergraduate majors.
