Henan University of Technology, located in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, was jointly established by the People's Government of Henan Province and the State Grain Bureau, and was selected into the basic capacity building project of central and western universities, the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents and the 20 1 1 plan.
Formerly known as the Central Grain Cadre School, the school is the only grain engineering university established in China on 1956 with the approval of the State Council. It has successively been subordinate to the Ministry of Grain, the Ministry of Machinery, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Domestic Trade.
