Southwest University of Science and Technology, referred to as "Southwest University of Science and Technology", is located in Mianyang, Sichuan Province. It was jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government. It is one of the key universities in western China 14 and one of the designated universities for comprehensive innovation and reform experiments in Sichuan Province. It has been selected into the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Colleges and Universities in the Midwest", the "Double First-class" construction plan of Sichuan Province, the education and training plan of outstanding engineers of the Ministry of Education, the "Double Million Plan", the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan of college students, the national new engineering research and practice project, the education and training plan of outstanding legal talents in Sichuan Province, the education and training plan of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents in Sichuan Province, and the Sichuan 201kloc-0/plan.
Xihua university, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a key supporting university for the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China. It was selected into the first batch of "New Engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, excellent universities for undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in Sichuan Province. Sichuan Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, Sichuan Excellent Agriculture and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan, Sichuan 20 1 1 Plan and Sichuan's "Double First-class" Construction Plan are members of the University Alliance of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle. It is a comprehensive university in Sichuan Province with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, law, economy, art, literature, education, agriculture and medicine.
Xihua university was founded in 1960 as Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College, 1972 as Chengdu Agricultural Machinery College, and 1983 as Sichuan Institute of Technology. In 2003, Sichuan University of Technology and chengdu normal university merged to form xihua university. In 2008, Sichuan Economic Management Cadre College merged.
