Shanxi Datong University is a provincial full-time multidisciplinary university with a history dating back to 1950s. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006, it was formed by the merger of Yanbei Normal University, Datong Medical College, Datong Vocational and Technical College and Shanxi Industrial Vocational and Technical College.
