China Youshi University (Beijing), located in Beijing, directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), ranks among the first batch of "2 1 1 projects" in China, and has been selected into "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform", "1/plan" and "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan".
The school has a total campus area of 496.5 mu, with 13 secondary colleges (departments) and 27 undergraduate majors. Faculty 1389, including 232 professors and 3 associate professors17. The school's predecessor was Beijing Petroleum Institute, which was established in 1953. 1969, moved to Dongying City, Shandong Province, and changed its name to "East China Petroleum Institute"; 1988 was renamed Petroleum University. Headquartered in Beijing, it consists of University of Petroleum (Beijing) and University of Petroleum (East China). In 2000, it was made clear that Petroleum University (Beijing) and Petroleum University (East China) were independent colleges; In 2005, it was renamed China Youshi University (Beijing).
