1999 college was rated as "outstanding unit of petroleum adult higher education" by China petroleum and natural gas group company; In 2002, it was identified as "National Computer Rank Examination Test Center" and "English Listening and Speaking Test Center" by the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education and the Sichuan Self-taught Examination Office. In 2004, the Computer Rank Test Center of Southwest Petroleum University was rated as "Advanced Test Center" by Sichuan Self-taught Examination Committee, and also won the "Social Examination Excellence Award". In March, 2005, the College was rated as an "advanced collective" in electronic registration management of higher education diploma by Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, and in 2006, Southwest Petroleum University was awarded as an advanced unit in enrollment of adult colleges in Sichuan Province.
