The publishing house is currently a limited company with no administrative level. China's press and publication management departments have not set standards for the level (or academic level and publishing ability) of university publishing houses.

At present, the post of president of the publishing house is set according to the middle-level leadership position, and the administration is at the level.

Chongqing University Press, established in June of 1985 and June of 1, is the "985" and "21"national key university press directly under the Ministry of Education. It has been selected into "National First-class Publishing House" and "National Top 100 Book Publishing Units" successively, and it is a national digital publishing transformation demonstration unit, and has been named as "Chongqing Cultural Industry Demonstration Base" by the Chongqing Municipal Government. At the same time, it has four publishing rights: books, audio-visual, electronic and network. Relying on the advantages of national university teaching materials and vocational teaching materials publishing bases, it ranks among the first-class university publishing houses in China.
