There's a post on Zhihu that says it's in place. Tsinghua and Peking University are really third-rate universities in the world. World universities are divided into five grades in that famous position, namely: top universities, first-class universities, second-rate universities, third-rate universities and other universities.

The top universities in the world include: Cambridge University, Harvard University, Stanford University and Oxford University.

First-class universities include Imperial College London, Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California at Berkeley and so on.

Second-rate universities include University of Maryland, University of Michigan, University of Sheffield and technical university of munich. Our top universities in Asia are basically second-rate universities, such as Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Tokyo, National University of Singapore and so on.

Third-rate universities include Tsinghua University, Taiwan Province Provincial University, Peking University, Ohio State University, Birmingham University and so on.

Everything else is dirty.

In this post, the gap between second-rate universities and third-rate universities is particularly emphasized. Who has the right to speak in school construction? Are those successful scientists academicians? Or the head of the department, the principal? Or professors or even students? Therefore, the gap between second-rate and third-rate schools is the most fundamental and insurmountable gap. If a school like Tsinghua Peking University does not break the existing system, it will be difficult for it to rise to the ranks of second-rate universities.
