The College of Food Science now has the Key Laboratory of Food Science and Safety and the Functional Food Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education. The college consists of seven research institutes, namely, Institute of Food Science, Institute of Food Oil and Plant Protein Engineering, Institute of Agricultural Products Processing and Storage Engineering, Institute of Food Nutrition and Safety, Institute of Sugar Engineering, Institute of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, and Institute of Engineering Design. There are more than 20 food chemistry laboratories under the Institute.
