I am very grateful to the Education Bureau for organizing this forum and giving us such a rare learning opportunity. After listening to the wonderful speeches of previous principals, I can't help but think of this sentence: it is better to study for ten years than to listen to you. The principals' rich management experience has benefited me a lot. I'm a junior three student who just started out. Take this opportunity to talk about the understanding of the evaluation mechanism of "three good students", and ask the predecessors to criticize and correct me.
Some time ago, Professor Gu Mingyuan, President of China Education Association and Professor of Beijing Normal University, put forward an initiative at the Shanghai Education Forum: abolishing the evaluation system of "three good students" which divided students into three grades before maturity. I believe that every student can become a useful person and any student's progress should be encouraged. A stone stirred up a thousand waves, and Professor Gu Mingyuan's initiative immediately caused a big discussion in the education circle. At that time, there were many posts on the education forum, with different opinions and opinions. On April 23rd, Shandong TV Station also invited a number of educational experts and scholars to have a live discussion in the form of live TV broadcast. Then, can the "three good students" selection, which has been implemented for more than 50 years, keep pace with the times? Should it be cancelled or added to the original selection criteria? I think we should reform the evaluation mechanism of "three good students", affirm and encourage every student and promote the healthy development of every student.
Since 1950s, the Ministry of Education and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League have carried out nationwide "three-good students" selection activities based on "good thinking, good study and good health", accounting for 5% to 10% of the total number of students. After more than 50 years of selection work, this selection system has exposed many disadvantages.
First, the selection of "three good students" has become the patent of a few students, and the selection ratio of 5% to 10% makes most students unattainable. For example, if there are 40 students in a class, only two students can be rated as "three good students" according to 5%, and only four places are available according to 10%. There are four more activists, leaving 32 students. They studied hard for a year and didn't get any honor. It used to be said that the college entrance examination was a wooden bridge. Didn't the students who are evaluating Sande cross the wooden bridge now? I can say for sure that many students have not been awarded an honor from primary school to junior high school for nine years. Don't they have something worthy of recognition and encouragement? The difference in proportion makes the evaluation mechanism of "three good students" lose its due incentive function and become the patent of a few people, which invisibly widens the gap between other students and "three good students" and artificially grades students.
Second, pay too much attention to grades and ignore students' personality development. The highest goal and core idea of the new curriculum reform is "everything is for the development of every student", which requires students to achieve all-round development and improve their comprehensive quality and ability. However, in practice, the evaluation of "three good students" pays too much attention to students' academic performance, and some schools even stipulate that students with the top 65,438+00 academic performance are eligible to be selected, which turns "three good" into "one good", which leads everyone to get into books from morning till night and do problems in the dark, ignoring the development of students' individual abilities such as practical ability, innovation ability and communication ability, thus creating a large number of students who can only do things.
Third, the role of "three good students" is exaggerated, which makes the evaluation with a strong utilitarian color.
As we all know, the evaluation of "three good students" at the provincial level can add five points for further study. These five points are cakes falling from the sky, that is, money. In order to give their children a chance to be rated as "three good students", many parents try their best to give gifts to schools and teachers to get in touch with each other. At this critical moment, "Miyoshi" is regarded as the "privilege" in the examination room, which casts a strong utilitarian color on the honorary title of "Miyoshi Student".
At this point, some people may ask, is it no good to judge the three good students? I said yes, and there are two advantages. The evaluation of the first and third best students benefited a few people, and they were added to the college entrance examination.
The selection of the second and third best students has prospered an industry. What industry? Optical industry. I think we all know that students' eyes are getting worse every year, and the shops with glasses are getting worse every year, but the business is booming every year. Perhaps everyone can't imagine that the evaluation of "three good students" can promote the prosperity of the glasses industry and make it one of the most developed industries in China. The number of glasses produced in China is far ahead in the world.
The evaluation of "three good students" can actually promote the prosperity of the glasses industry, which is the sorrow of education! It can be seen that "three good students", a product of the 1950s, can no longer meet the needs of the times. Now we are vigorously promoting the new curriculum reform to reduce the heavy burden on students. I think we should establish a scientific evaluation system of "three good students" and combine the concept of "student-oriented" to change the traditional "three good students" standard of "good thinking, good study and good health" into the new "three good students" standard of "good citizens, good students and good children".
Last year, our Nanxi primary school tried to make a bold reform. In the school, the selection of "Top Ten Young Pioneers on Campus", "Reading Star", "Art Star", "Communication Star", "Sports Star", "Mathematics Star" and "Civilization Star" was carried out in the class.
At the same time, reform the original individual evaluation and pay attention to students' personality development. The initial individual activists were questioned by many parents. For example, students whose children are rated as "labor activists" are unhappy, and parents are also unhappy. Some parents even come to school to ask questions. My children are specially sent to school to work? Let's be speechless and blame his children for being advanced. Why bother? Last semester, we renamed "labor activist" as "campus beautician", which shows that your creation makes the campus more beautiful. We changed "recreational activists" to "small singers on campus" and "sports activists" to "small athletes", set up the "Wild Goose Award" to commend students who love groups, set up the "Dark Horse Award" to commend students who have made the fastest progress in their studies, retain the title of "civilized students and outstanding student cadres", and increase the imagination of "small calligraphers, writers, painters, inventors and mathematicians" as a model. Every student has a bright spot. Why not be generous and give him an honorary title and a certificate?
After the implementation of this reform, students take the initiative to participate in the application and selection, and their personality development has a clear goal, so that every child can see their own strengths and play their own strengths, which has received unexpected results. For example, Pan Wenjun, a fifth-grade student, is naturally introverted and taciturn. Since applying for the "Story Star" award, he has read a lot of books, can tell stories alone, and finally won the "Story Star" award, even his introverted personality has been overcome.
In order to be rated as a "campus beautician", the school originally asked each race to have a pot of flowers, and some students planted five or even eight pots themselves. The appraisal of "Campus Beauticians" has stimulated students' enthusiasm for planting flowers. From one pot of flowers to three pots of flowers, it has effectively promoted the greening construction of the school. This year, with the active participation of students, our school has built a 10 flower bed, three rockeries and two gravel roads, and planted a large number of boxwood, Du Ying, cedar and cypress trees, gradually forming a towering cedar and rockery in the original monotonous campus.
After half a year's reform, we are surprised to find that students pay more attention to their own personality development. Students have a stronger sense of honor and a stronger competitive atmosphere. Imagine a bright future. Can we boldly predict that "art stars" may be future singers and painters? The stars of communication may be future diplomats and sports stars, and may also be future Liu Xiang and Yao Ming. This prediction may be wrong, but today, as educators, what we can and should do is to give students a stage, give them a stage to show themselves, affirm and encourage every student and promote their healthy development.
