Biochemistry, molecular biology and developmental biology are national key disciplines with great advantages. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation (20 17) organized by the Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education, the first-class discipline of "Biology" in Tsinghua University was rated as A+ discipline.

In 2009, in order to meet the needs of the rapid development of life sciences, Tsinghua University established the College of Life Sciences, with Professor Shi Yigong as the first dean.

In 2009, the School of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University was formally established.

The College of Life Sciences has developed into one of the most distinctive and influential bases for scientific research and advanced personnel training in the field of life sciences in China. Life College is "National Training Base for Basic Science Research and Teaching Talents" and "National Training Base for Life Science and Technology Talents".
