Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is located in Hefei, a famous historical and cultural city, which is known as "the lips and teeth of Jiangnan and the throat on the right side of Huaihe River". It is a pilot unit for the establishment and management of the filing system of colleges and universities in Anhui Province, which is the "building a high-level university with local characteristics" in the revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province.

Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1959, and its predecessor was Anhui Traditional Chinese Medicine Training Course (School) founded by 1952. From 65438 to 0959, Anhui Provincial Government officially approved the establishment of Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Mr. Guo Moruo wrote the name of the school. 1970, Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was merged into Anhui Medical College.

1975, the Ministry of Education approved the restoration of Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
